Accessible Conference Planning & Consultation:

Accessible Conference Consultations are available to maximize your ability to make your next conference accessible to all participants. Our experience over the years as coordinators for conferences and trainings sponsored by federal organizations gives us not only a good knowledge of the requirements of applicable law, but we have previously dealt with many questions that come up. We have already got a list of "worst training experiences". We have arrived at training sites and had the hotel man agement changing doorswings and removing doors, worked with service personnel in disability etiquette and people-first language. From planning a room layout, to lunch, to registration information, we can help you or your conference planners better serve people with disabilities, and meet requirements of ADA.

Wayfinding & Accessible Signage Consultation:

Signs are one of the most frequently overlooked features of accessibility, and there are characteristics for certain signs where they are required, and where others are provided, for maximum accessibility and usability. ED&A can do on-site assessments and/or plan review assessments to determine where signage is appropriate, and specify what requirements those signs must meet to be accessible and useable by people with disabilities. Owners that contract for an expensive graphics package must include a ccessibility in the design to avoid wasting money, and being out of compliance with regulations.

Accessible Signage Supply

We can process your order for accessible signage through our qualified vendors. Eastlake, Derry & Associates has future plans for being a direct source for accessible architectural signage.

Alternate Format Consulting and Services:

Braille Formatting/Referral

We provide local and long distance referrals for alternate formats. We keep a list of vendors that have been referred to us. Additional providers with references are welcome to send us an email.

Audio Formatting/Production

ED&A provides audio formatting of training and conference materials as well as production of audio-taped training sessions.

Assistive Listening Systems (ALS) & Services

ED&A is a vendor for Assistive Listening Systems. We have systems available for purchase as well as conference services including providing and monitoring an ALS for your conference.

C.A.R.T. Consultants

ED&A provides referrals to providers of C.A.R.T. on request, depending on who is on our list for your area. Additional providers with references are welcome to send us an email.
