Picture of David Stewart

David Stewart is the Project Director for Eastlake, Derry & Associates. David coordinates our information & referral services, conference facilitation, and the reporting process for site visits and plan reviews. Prior to starting with ED&A in 2001, David was a disability rights advocate with the federally funded Protection & Advocacy for Individual Rights (PAIR) Program in West Virginia. He has received training on the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF), and the Region III Disability and Business Technical Assistance Center.

David received training on the ADA's Title I employment provisions and accommodating employees with disabilities from the President's Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities program in Washington, DC, conducted by Cornell University. He has presented training seminars for the West Virginia Chapter AIA, the National Association of Social Workers Conference, the West Virginia Human Rights Commission, and the West virginia Supreme Courts, among others. He has provided information and technical assistance on the ADA, and other disability rights laws, to the West Virginia Legislature, the State Attorney General's Office, the State Fire Marshall's Office, and the general public.

David has been appointed by the Governor to the Statewide Rehabilitation Council, and the West Virginia Statewide Independent Living Council. He is an individual member of the National Council on Independent Living, has served on the Boards of Directors for the Mountain State Centers for Independent Living, Goodwill Industries, and the Fair Shake Network, a coalition that promotes the rights of people with disabilities. He is the coordinator of the WVADA Coalition, and a member of the state's Olmstead Advisory Committee. He is currently providing part-time information and technical assistance for the Region III Disability and Business Technical Assistance Center under contract for Eastlake, Derry & Associates. David runs the Charleston, WV office for ED&A, where our 800 number rings for your calling convenience.
